1. Plain-Language Summary
Read this first.
ExceptionNation is a documentary media property. It publishes one individual's personal medical history, imaging, bloodwork, training, and the choices made along the way, together with documented stories of others whose biology was expected to subtract from their lives but did not. Some written content is reviewed for clinical-terminology accuracy by a named, licensed medical professional before publication. Some bloodwork is ordered and drawn by a named, licensed physician and published as part of an ongoing personal health record.
None of this is medical care. ExceptionNation does not diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, prevent, or prescribe anything. Nothing on this site — including articles, videos, voiceovers, imaging walkthroughs, bloodwork pages, consulting calls, and post-call summaries — is medical, psychological, nutritional, pharmacological, or rehabilitative advice. Nothing on this site is a substitute for evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed healthcare provider who knows you and your medical history.
If you are looking for medical advice, you are in the wrong place. Talk to your own provider. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
2. What This Site Is
ExceptionNation is editorial, documentary, and educational in nature. Its function is to document — in the first person, with imaging, bloodwork, and source records where applicable — what one individual has navigated physically and how he has chosen to navigate it, and to extend that documentary work to others whose stories fit the same architecture.
The content on this site falls into the following categories:
• Personal documentation — written articles, photographs, imaging walkthroughs, and videos created by the site's founder, documenting his own medical history, imaging, surgeries, training, and choices. These are first-person accounts of one person's experience. They are not instructions, protocols, programs, or recommendations for anyone else.
• Reviewed editorial content — written articles and video scripts that have been reviewed before publication by a named, licensed medical professional for accuracy of clinical terminology, anatomical descriptions, and references to imaging findings. The reviewer's name, credential, license number, and state licensing board link are published on the reviewed piece. The review is described in detail in Section 5 below.
• Bloodwork documentation — laboratory panels ordered and drawn by a named, licensed physician through her practice, published with chain-of-custody documentation as part of an ongoing personal health record. The bloodwork page is described in Section 6 below.
• Documented profiles of others — stories of other individuals whose medical history and lived experience fit the site's editorial focus, published with the subject's participation and consent. These profiles follow the same documentary standard as the founder's own material.
• Consulting — a paid, single-session conversation offered by the site's founder, framed and structured as education and experience-sharing only, not as medical care. Consulting is described in detail in Section 7 below.
All of this is editorial speech. All of it is the work of a layperson documenting his own life and the lives of others who agreed to be documented, with named licensed professionals contributing in defined, limited roles. The First Amendment protects this kind of personal documentary speech. Nothing about that protection converts the speech into medical care.
3. What This Site Is Not
ExceptionNation is not, and does not hold itself out as, any of the following:
• A medical practice, medical clinic, telemedicine service, or healthcare provider of any kind.
• A physical therapy, chiropractic, athletic training, personal training, nutrition counseling, or rehabilitation practice.
• A source of medical, psychiatric, psychological, nutritional, pharmacological, surgical, rehabilitative, or fitness advice for any specific reader, viewer, or consulting client.
• A source of diagnosis, second opinions, treatment plans, exercise prescriptions, dietary prescriptions, supplement protocols, hormonal protocols, or recovery protocols for any specific reader, viewer, or consulting client.
• A substitute for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or care by a licensed healthcare provider who knows you and your medical history.
• An endorsement — by the site, the founder, the medical reviewer, the ordering physician, or any other named contributor — that any reader, viewer, or consulting client should adopt, replicate, attempt, or rely upon any of the activities, training methods, supplements, lifestyle choices, or decisions documented on this site.
The founder of ExceptionNation is not a physician, physical therapist, chiropractor, athletic trainer, certified personal trainer, registered dietitian, pharmacist, nurse, or any other licensed healthcare provider. He is a layperson documenting his own life and the lives of others who agreed to be documented.
4. No Professional Relationship
Your use of this site does not create a physician-patient relationship, a therapist-patient relationship, a trainer-client relationship, an attorney-client relationship, or any other professional, fiduciary, or treatment relationship between you and ExceptionNation LLC, its founder, the named medical reviewer, the named ordering physician, or any other named contributor.
This applies whether you read an article, watch a video, view an imaging walkthrough, view a bloodwork page, fill out an intake form, book a consulting call, attend a consulting call, receive a post-call summary, or correspond with the founder or the site by any means.
The named medical reviewer's role is limited and is defined in Section 5. The named ordering physician's role is limited and is defined in Section 6. The founder's consulting role is limited and is defined in Section 7. No other relationship — express, implied, ongoing, or otherwise — is created or intended by any of these activities.
5. About the Medical Reviewer
Some written articles and video scripts on this site are reviewed before publication by a named, licensed medical professional. When that occurs, the reviewed piece carries on-page attribution that identifies the reviewer by full name, credential, state of licensure, and license number, and links to the relevant state licensing board for independent verification.
The reviewer's role is narrow and is limited to the following:
• Confirming that the clinical terminology used in the reviewed piece is accurate as written.
• Confirming that descriptions of medical conditions, imaging findings, and anatomical structures in the reviewed piece are factually correct.
• Confirming that the reviewed piece does not contain language that, in the reviewer's professional judgment, constitutes a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or clinical prescription directed at the reader.
• Confirming that the reviewed piece is framed consistently with the documentary nature of the site as the reviewer understands it.
The reviewer's sign-off is not, and should not be read by any reader as, any of the following:
• An endorsement of the founder's personal choices, training approach, supplementation, lifestyle decisions, or refusal of any recommendation made by any of his own clinicians.
• A certification, recommendation, or suggestion that any reader with a similar condition, similar imaging, or similar history could safely, appropriately, or wisely replicate any of the activities documented in the reviewed piece.
• A clinical opinion regarding the safety, appropriateness, or wisdom of any of the documented activities for any individual other than the founder himself.
• A second opinion of any kind on the diagnosis, treatment, or care of any reader.
• Ongoing review, supervision, or certification of the site as a whole. Each sign-off applies only to the specific piece of content submitted to the reviewer at the time it was reviewed and only to the version then reviewed.
The reviewer is an independent contractor. The reviewer is not an employee, partner, agent, or principal of ExceptionNation LLC. The reviewer is not responsible for, and disclaims any liability for, how any reader interprets, applies, or relies upon any content the reviewer has reviewed in good faith and within the scope described above.
6. About the Bloodwork and the Ordering Physician
Laboratory panels published on this site (including but not limited to those published on the /natural page) are ordered and drawn by a licensed physician through her own clinical practice, processed by a CLIA-certified laboratory, and published as part of an ongoing personal health record with chain-of-custody documentation.
The ordering physician's role is limited to ordering, drawing, and authenticating the laboratory panels she has ordered. The role does not include, and is not intended to include, clinical guidance for any reader of this site, evaluation of the founder's training or lifestyle decisions, or any opinion regarding what any reader should or should not do.
Attribution on the bloodwork page operates in one of two modes:
• Where the ordering physician has consented in writing to named publication, her full name, credential, NPI, and a link to the relevant state licensing board are published on the bloodwork page to authenticate chain of custody.
• Where the ordering physician has not consented to named publication, the bloodwork is published with the ordering clinic name, the CLIA-certified processing laboratory, the order date, the draw date, and the report date — sufficient to authenticate chain of custody without identifying the individual physician.
In either case, the role of the ordering physician is limited as described in this Section 6, and publication of any of the foregoing information — whether the physician is identified by name or by ordering clinic — does not constitute, and is not intended to constitute, any of the following:
• A clinical endorsement by the ordering physician of any training approach, supplementation, lifestyle choice, or decision documented on this site.
• An endorsement, certification, or recommendation that any reader pursue, replicate, or attempt any of the activities documented on this site.
• A medical opinion regarding the appropriateness, safety, or wisdom of any of the documented activities for the founder, for any reader, or for any other individual.
• A treatment recommendation, diagnosis, or clinical guidance directed at any reader.
Laboratory values are an artifact of one individual's biology on the day the sample was drawn. They do not predict, validate, or recommend any choice for any other individual.
7. About the Consulting Offering
ExceptionNation offers one paid consulting service, currently described on the site as Track 3 — Don't Shatter. The consulting offering is structured and operated as education, mentorship, and experience-sharing only. It is not medical care, physical therapy, personal training, athletic training, nutrition counseling, psychiatric or psychological care, rehabilitation, a second clinical opinion, or any other form of licensed professional service.
The founder, who provides the consulting service, is a layperson. He is not a physician, physical therapist, chiropractor, athletic trainer, certified personal trainer, registered dietitian, pharmacist, nurse, or any other licensed healthcare provider. He shares his own experience, the questions he asked, the choices he made, the reasoning behind those choices, and the published research he relied upon. He does not, and will not, do any of the following on a consulting call or in any communication associated with it:
• Diagnose any condition.
• Interpret a client's imaging, laboratory results, medical records, or symptoms.
• Prescribe, recommend, or direct any medical treatment, surgical procedure, medication, supplement protocol, hormonal protocol, peptide protocol, or rehabilitative protocol.
• Prescribe, recommend, or direct any specific exercise program, dietary plan, weight-loss plan, recovery protocol, or training methodology for the client.
• Advise the client to begin, modify, discontinue, or refuse any treatment, medication, or recommendation made by any of the client's own clinicians.
• Comment on or evaluate the competence, judgment, or recommendations of any of the client's own healthcare providers.
• Predict any clinical or physical outcome for the client.
• Provide a second opinion on any clinical decision.
Before any consulting call is scheduled, the prospective client completes an intake form that includes an acknowledgment that the call is not a medical consultation, that the founder is not a licensed medical provider, that nothing discussed will constitute medical advice or a recommendation, and that the client will not make medical decisions based solely on the conversation. The call begins with a verbal restatement of these same boundaries. A written summary is sent within twenty-four hours of the call, framed as observations only, with no prescriptive language.
The post-call summary, the call itself, the intake form, and any related correspondence are documentary and educational in nature. They are not medical records. They do not establish, and are not intended to establish, a physician-patient relationship, a therapist-patient relationship, a trainer-client relationship, or any other professional or treatment relationship between the founder and the client.
The consulting fee is paid for the founder's time and the documented sharing of his personal experience. It is not a payment for medical, clinical, diagnostic, prescriptive, rehabilitative, or therapeutic services, and no such services are rendered.
8. About the Videos, Imaging Walkthroughs, and Voiceovers
Videos published on this site — including point-of-view lift footage, voiceover narrations, imaging walkthroughs (including but not limited to MRI walkthroughs), and split-screen documentation of imaging alongside physical output — are first-person documentary content. They show one individual's imaging, one individual's body, and one individual's choices, narrated by that individual.
Imaging walkthroughs are documentation of the founder's own imaging only. The founder is not interpreting imaging in a clinical sense. He is narrating what his own clinicians communicated to him about his own studies and what he chose to do with that information. Nothing in any video on this site is an interpretation of any viewer's imaging, an evaluation of any viewer's condition, or guidance to any viewer about diagnosis, treatment, or training.
Each video carries a verbal disclaimer at the open and a written disclaimer in the description. No video on this site, in any format, is an instruction, a protocol, a program, or a recommendation for any viewer to attempt, replicate, or rely upon what is shown.
9. No Individual Reliance
Nothing on this site is tailored to you. The site does not know your medical history, your imaging, your laboratory values, your medications, your prior surgeries, your current symptoms, your training history, your nutritional status, your psychological state, or any other element of your individual situation. The site cannot know these things, and does not attempt to know these things.
Do not act on anything you read, watch, hear, or discuss on this site without first consulting a licensed healthcare provider who knows you and your medical history. Do not begin, modify, or discontinue any treatment, medication, supplement, exercise program, training regimen, dietary practice, or recovery protocol based on anything documented or discussed here.
If anything on this site prompts a question for your own provider, take it to your provider. That is the correct use of editorial documentary health content. It is the only use this site is structured to support.
10. Emergencies
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, including (but not limited to) chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden severe pain, signs of a stroke, signs of a heart attack, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, or any other situation requiring immediate medical attention, stop reading this site and call 911 or your local emergency number immediately, or go to your nearest emergency department.
Do not use this site, contact ExceptionNation, attempt to schedule a consulting call, or wait for any response from the founder, the medical reviewer, the ordering physician, or any other person associated with the site in lieu of seeking emergency care.
11. Health Claims, Substantiation, and the Limits of One Person's Record
The site documents the founder's personal physical output, laboratory values, imaging findings, training, supplementation, and lifestyle decisions. These are descriptions of what one person has done and what one person's records show. They are not claims, express or implied, that any specific approach, training method, supplement, lifestyle decision, or other documented practice will produce, has been shown to produce, or is likely to produce any particular health, performance, longevity, recovery, or therapeutic outcome in any other individual.
Where the site describes scientific or published research, the description is provided for informational and editorial purposes only. The site does not claim that any cited research substantiates any treatment claim, performance claim, or health benefit claim directed at the reader.
No product, supplement, training method, or service offered or discussed on this site is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or condition. No statement on this site has been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
12. Third-Party Content, Subjects, and Links
The site may publish documented profiles of individuals other than the founder, with their participation and consent. Statements made by those individuals reflect their own experience and their own decisions. Their inclusion on the site does not constitute medical advice from them, from the site, or from any reviewer, and does not create a professional relationship between them and any reader.
The site may link to, reference, or quote third-party sources including published research, news coverage, clinical resources, and other websites. The site does not control, endorse, certify, or assume responsibility for the content of third-party sources. Inclusion of a link or reference is not a recommendation that you adopt, rely upon, or act on the linked or referenced content.
13. Acknowledgment, Assumption of Risk, and Hold Harmless
By accessing, reading, viewing, listening to, or otherwise using this site, or by engaging with the consulting offering described in Section 7, you acknowledge and agree that you have read and understand this Medical Disclaimer in full, and that:
• You will not rely on this site, its content, or the consulting offering as a substitute for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or care by a licensed healthcare provider who knows you and your medical history.
• You assume full and exclusive responsibility for any decision you make, any action you take, and any consequence — physical, financial, psychological, or otherwise — that follows from your access to or use of this site or the consulting offering.
• You release, discharge, and hold harmless ExceptionNation LLC, its founder, the named medical reviewer, the named ordering physician, any documented subjects, and any other named contributor, from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to your access to or use of this site, the content published on it, the consulting offering, or any communication with any person associated with the site, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
This Section 13 does not limit any liability that cannot be limited by law. To the extent any limitation in this Disclaimer is held unenforceable, the remainder of the Disclaimer remains in full effect.
14. Governing Law
This Medical Disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to this Disclaimer, the site, or the consulting offering shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
15. Changes to This Disclaimer
This Disclaimer may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new Effective Date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after the Effective Date of an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
